What can you expect from us at PRINTING United?
It’s officially tradeshow season! We are changing things up this year at Canon Solutions America. Later this month, we will head to Dallas, Texas, to showcase our full portfolio of printing and document management solutions at the inaugural PRINTING United. While our Large Format group has been a staple at SGIA, the previous iteration of PRINTING United, we are excited to join this show with our production print solutions.
Expect to see our motto of “Smart Change Starts Here” in full-color. We’ve recently announced some exciting new product upgrades to our production print portfolio, including:
Innovations in Sheetfed Inkjet with the Océ VarioPrint i-Series+
This sheetfed inkjet press features an expanded range of coated media for increased application possibilities, including matte, silk, and gloss coated papers with up to 110-pound cover weight. It boasts enhanced image quality, using new performance inks that, in combination with enhanced color management capabilities, results in an expanded color gamut. You can achieve improved output quality through an increase in the optical density, minimum Grey Component Replacement, and an increase in CMYK Total Area Coverage. Image quality is improved further through the use of refresh lines, more advanced nozzle failure compensation, and the ability to import/export CMYK curves.
The Océ VarioPrint® i-series+ has an expanded JDF/JMF workflow integration for broader printer finishing capabilities and MIS systems. It also has increased throughput with simplex speed of up to 170 ipm (LTR) and increased maximum sheet length of 20 inches, and with Océ PRISMAsync™ media management, can accurately steer front-to-back registration. The Océ VarioPrint i-series+ will be available for ordering October 1, 2019. In addition, existing Océ VarioPrint i-series customers can benefit from an optional field retrofit, enabling them to take advantage of the enhanced performance and inks. Retrofits will be available starting in Q1 2020.
Exceptional Enhancements to the High-quality Océ ProStream Series
Earlier this year, we announced Océ ProStream™ series enhancements that include the ability to print on heavyweight standard papers up to 300 gsm or roughly 12 points. This is ideal for target applications like greeting cards, postcards, flyers, calendars, and book or catalog covers. The Océ ProStream series is now one of the highest quality inkjet presses, with a wider media range than most competitors and a close match to offset equipment.
We also introduced an optional inline quality control scanner that helps increase production efficiency with automated jet out detection and correction. Customers now benefit from even higher print quality with Color Uniformity Control. This feature enhances consistency in shadings by minimizing head-to-head variations. Applications will benefit from smoother skin tones and sky tones while nozzle outs in dark tones can be camouflaged to become almost invisible.
And Much More!
At PRINTING United, you’ll see applications from the above two inkjet presses as well as applications from our Océ ColorStream® continuous feed inkjet press and our Océ VarioPrint 6000 TITAN monochrome cutsheet press. Additionally, you’ll see the Canon imagePRESS series running live in our booth showcasing the highest quality output from a sheetfed toner device.
You won’t want to miss our large format devices—2019 SGIA Product of the Year award winners—the Océ Colorado 1650 printer and the Océ Arizona® 1380 GT printer. See these and more featured in our application vignettes that cover a broad range of industries and verticals, demonstrating how Canon Solutions America can serve your organization’s diverse application needs.
